Believe it or not, but we spend one third of our everyday life in the bed and therefore it is important that we make sure that we get the best quality sleep and we also protect our back in the bed.
Millions of people around the world usually find pain in their back and neck when they wake up every morning and that can be because of the wrong sleeping posture or because there is something wrong with the mattress.
If you feel there is something wrong with the mattress you can get it changed, but here we take look at other options to protect your back in the bed.
Sleeping on Your Stomach
There are many people that prefer to sleep on their stomach, but that can hurt your spine and you need to make sure that you never sleep in that posture. Sleeping on your stomach is not the right thing to do because it can hurt your neck and spine throughout the night and cause you more pain when you awake in the morning.
It is recommended that you sleep on your back or on the side that can help you to protect your back and resolve your back issues naturally. When you are sleeping sideways you also need to place a pillow between the knees to maintain natural curves that can help your back.
Getting the Right Pillows and Mattress
Not all pillows offer the same kind of support your neck and back requires while you are asleep and therefore make sure that you have bought the right pillow. There are many pillows that are made from feathers but they do not offer the right support that your spine requires and the result is that you wake up having pain in your back and neck.
You also need to look out for the right mattress that can help you to get the right spine posture while you are asleep. If you are experiencing pain every morning when you wake up you need to search for cervical pillows that offer the right support. Waterbeds are comfortable but they are not as popular now in the market as they used to be.
Get Up in the Right Way
Many people never realize that the problem with their back pain is not their mattress or the pillow or the way they sleep, but it is the way they get out of their bed. If you already have back injury or pain you need to make sure that you wake up the right way which will heal your back injuries rather than worsening it.
If you are lying on your back, the best way to get up is that you roll over to the side and using your arms to push the upper body up off the bed and let your legs fall off slowly over the edge of the bed. The weight is now transferred to your hips, buttocks and thighs rather than on your spine. You can keep your back straight and push yourself out of bed.
