Chiropractic treatment involves manipulating the cervical, dorsal and lumbar regions and other parts of the body to adjust the vertebrae, clear blockages and restore physiological balance. Chiropractic (also known as chiropractic and chiropractic) is mainly used to remedy deficiencies and blockages related to the neuromusculoskeletal system (bones, muscles, nervous system). It would also help relieve some other ailments.
At the chiropractor
The chiropractor first notes the person’s state of health, medical history, and issues of concern. He then conducts a general physical examination and a detailed examination of the spine and painful areas. He sometimes recommends additional tests (radiography, blood test, ultrasound, etc.) to confirm his diagnosis and check the health of the vertebrae and joints. He then draws up an intervention plan.
What is Chiropractic treatment?
The answer to this question depends on the nature of your problem, the time between the first sign of your symptoms and your visit to the chiropractors and your goal to remedy your problem. For example, if your problem is recent and you are only looking for relief from your symptoms, your treatments may only last between 1 and 4 weeks.
On the other hand, if you want to correct the cause of a problem that has been present for years, your chiropractic treatment could take several months. By establishing his diagnosis, your chiropractor will be able to tell you the optimal duration of your treatment.
Fast and effective treatment
Radial shock waves are high energy acoustic waves. They are transmitted through the surface of the skin and spread radially in human tissues. The body responds by increasing metabolic activity all around the pain area to accelerate healing and regenerate affected tissue.
Treatment plan: According to your goals
Thereafter, your chiropractor will offer different types of care, depending on your age and condition. It is important for you to follow as closely as possible the treatment plan issued by your Doctor, in order to obtain the best results. We will work at all times according to your interests.
1. Relief phase
During the relief phase, our goal is simply to reduce your pain and discomfort, in order to regain your health and well-being. During this period, the treatments are closer together in order to optimize the results. However, the mechanism of injury is not corrected and we must not forget that the absence of pain does not mean that healing is complete.
2. Correction / Rehabilitation Phase
During this phase, we decrease the frequency of visits while maintaining some follow-up with the patient since the body is still fragile. Typically, we will give more important stretching and be strengthening exercises to our patients during this phase. The frequency of visits decreases to once a week or once every 2 weeks. This phase aims to correct the cause of your problem, so as to avoid recurrence.
3. Maintenance / prevention phase
Once at this stage, there is no more pain and good rehabilitation has been done with the patient. Some postural and ergonomic defects have already been corrected. However, we recommend a 4-6 week visit to make sure everything continues to work.
4. Is it true that I will have to consult all my life?
As a patient, you can decide to end your care anytime, it’s your decision! Many patients choose to continue their care, on a preventive basis, however, we do not impose it. Some patients only want to relieve pain or discomfort and stop caring when they feel better. We will respect your choice.
5. Adjustment
The chiropractic adjustment is a specific and precise joint correction that aims to restore the normal functioning of the vertebral and peripheral joints. When adjusting, your chiropractor will apply a fast pulse to the restricted joint.
6. Muscular work
Your chiropractor will use a variety of soft tissue techniques, with or without tools, to target muscle dysfunction in addition to the joint plan.
The chiropractor also gives his patient general advice on healthy living, rest, exercise, nutrition, posture and, on any factor that could influence his well-being.
